I understand firsthand the hard work of therapy and chose this profession because I too have suffered and have been on a healing journey. I believe people have stories not illnesses or imbalances. I provide the space to explore the story, redefine it, and create a more fulfilling one.   I help my clients to gain awareness of their personal strengths and find the courage to take an honest look at their personal challenges and am committed to helping my clients have a more satisfying life.

   I believe that every person has the innate ability to move toward health and healing and possess an authentic ability to see people’s strengths while guiding the therapeutic process toward this goal. My approach is client centered, practical, genuine, compassionate, and thought provoking.  I have gained particular experience and interest in serving the unique needs of individuals dealing with trauma and the effects of addiction including the intricacies of maintaining long term recovery in a 12 step program who may be now dealing with secondary addictions. Additionally, I have significant experience working with issues related to grief, advanced illness and end of life issues.

As a bicultural and bilingual therapist, I strive to create a safe and judgment-free space for my client’s therapeutic experience. I am a Licensed Social Worker and completed my master’s program with a concentration in working with Hispanic families. I conduct sessions in English, Spanish, or a mix of both languages. Driven by my passion to aid clients through their therapy journey, I provide a safe space to express feelings and life experiences. I integrate different perspectives and modalities of treatment based on your specific needs. Some of those forms of treatment could include, but aren’t limited to, using strengths perspectives, a solution-based approach, analyzing attachment styles, mindfulness strategies, and emotionally or somatically focused approaches. In our sessions, we will identify the change you wish to see in your life, set goals, and create a path towards achieving them. The plan is custom-tailored to you and your needs using a holistic approach. There are many aspects of what makes you who you are, so we explore the connections between your mind, body, heart, and spirit. During your session, I encourage you to share your experiences with social, spiritual, and cultural practices/beliefs so that we integrate them into your customized plan. Together, we can work towards the change you seek. While working in the field of hospice, I supported clients and their families as they faced the many challenges that manifest at the end of life. I also have experience working with homebound seniors and co-facilitating group therapy with neurodivergent clients. I am an ally to the LGBTQIA+ and alternative lifestyle communities. My approach to therapy is naturalistic and holistic. I utilize Rogerian/Humanistic techniques and genuinely believe healing and self-actualization are both possible *under the right conditions.* Mine is a warm, highly attuned presence. Although I am the therapist, you as the client, are the expert in your own experience, and you hold the key to personal growth, empowerment, and uncovering your own solutions. I am committed to listening and reflecting back your strengths.

I work with individuals, couples, and groups primarily around self-acceptance, achieving goals, and gaining self-confidence. I hope to assist you in fulfilling your potential and finding purpose and meaning in life. I provide an opportunity for people to grow in a safe, supportive, non-judgmental and nurturing environment. This work helps to heal trauma/ PTSD, depression, low self-esteem, addictions and anxiety. I also welcome those who simply want the added flexibility good therapy can achieve, enabling them to live fuller, richer, happier lives.

Many people think about the cost of therapy.  But what about the cost of not doing therapy? What are the costs of being in an unhealthy relationship? Or the costs of persistent medical issues that may be related to stress or misguided coping skills? What is the cost of low self-esteem and negative feelings about yourself? What is the cost of instant gratification used for self- soothing? We all need a helping hand, an open mind, and a listening ear from time to time. People can get stuck in painful emotional states and relationship patterns, for all kinds of reasons.  My intention is to offer a safe place to explore the nature of persistent obstacles which leave you feeling confused, overwhelmed, or stuck. 
We will look at your style of relating to others, habits and patterns formed throughout the years, as a way to gain insight into who you are and where you would like to be. We will explore the significant relationships in your life (family of origin, romantic, friendships) as well as your relationship with yourself (your emotions, how you handle and/or address conflict, anxiety, stress, sadness).
My goal is to assist you in feeling more hopeful, healthy, and happy as they move through your life fully integrated.  It is my honor to be able to work with you toward making lasting changes in your relationships, feeling more connected to your partner and others, and having a safe place to discover more aspects of the emerging you.
